Welcome to Wild Ocean Retreats Homepage
This site is for holiday bookings in our beautiful 300 year old thatched 2 bedroom holiday cottage in the lovely Norfolk coastal village of Sea Palling.
Bookings are usually from Saturday to Saturday for 2012 and prices and availability can be found on the following pages, although we do accept bookings for weekends and other dates, please email me if you have any queries. Please note that this is a home-made site and therefore there may be some things that I have not covered or that need to be explained.
There will be a welcome pack of groceries for weekly stays, along with home made preserves and handmade soap is always in the cottage for you to use and take away if you wish at the end of your stay. The sleeping accommodation is 2 bedrooms, of which you have to walk through the first bedroom with a double bed into the further bedroom with two single beds. All bed linen is provided, along with bath and hand towels.
The mattress on the double is quite new and is a memory foam quality mattress to ensure a good nights sleep. There is no bath but a large walk in shower with the option to detatch the shower head for ease, especially with small children. This is on the ground floor.
The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave and plenty of kitchen utensils for your stay. The living room has tv with freeview, 2 x 2-seater sofa's and a dining table with 4 chairs. The door leading to the garden is a stable door, which can be extremely handy for children and animals - whether they are in or out!
The garden is south-facing and is totally enclosed for safety and privacy. Well-behaved animals are welcome, but I would ask that dogs are not allowed upstairs, where carpets are fitted. The stairs are spiral so would not be suitable for the very young unattended or infirm. I could not provide a stairgate as the opening is too narrow, but there is a door at the top of the stairs. I can also provide a travel size cotbed with all the bedding if preferred, please ask if this is required.
Whilst we are an animal friendly business, we do expect owners to clear up after their pets. I do not allow or expect animals upstairs at all, or on the furniture and ask owners to respect this. The furniture is for humans, not animals. We will not charge for pets but we require a damage deposit of £100 from all bookings and would consider charging if the cottage was left in a very dirty state.
Having said all that, I am not a domestic goddess but it is a nice cottage and we'd really like to keep it that way!
